I was looking on play.com on Thursday, and noticed that they now seem to have the game+controller in stock. I decided to go for it, and placed an order.
Yesterday i received notification thats this been despatched
*does happy dance*
Play.com is one of the best internet shopping sites going in my opinion. Not only are they often the cheapest, but they also have free p&p - which makes a BIG difference. Their delivery time is normally pretty good, and I havent had a single problem with them in all of the time i have going there. They are starting selling non-DRM mp3s soon too. (More on that another day)
What this space for some photos of me RAWKING when it arrives….
Well, you could buy cards, flowers, chocolates, diamond rings or a sports cars for your loved one this Valentines day, or you could take Zyms advice, and go with something a just a little bit classier….
This is a song for the Ukuleleladies,
But Ukulelefellas, listen closely…
Its a pretty straight forward song, if you’re feeling fancy and want to show off, you could try and work out some kind of fingerpicking arrangement. The only slightly tricky bit is the end, but by then your loved one will be so impressed by you high pitched wailing, that they wont really notice!
There are plently of cover versions of this on youtube if you dont know what this sounds like, including this uke version from the Ukulele Cabaret.
Hedi Klum swimming with a ‘policechimp’ ‘policeutan’ - wtf!

Because i am such a good husband, the lovely Mrs Zym has offered to by me Guitar Hero 3 + Les Paul Stylee Guitar Controller for Valentines day.
Unfortunately i cant get my bloody hands one, not even for ready money
I have phoned all the Games shops and PC worlds, and been to all of the supermarkets in the area, and they are all out. They all have plenty of PS3 & Wii versions, but not Xbox360, and when i ask, they all say that they havent had any stock in since before Christmas.
Yesterday i phoned a Gamestation tucked away inside a local Blockbusters, and found out that they had a second-hand copy of said game + controller for £60. Rather than getting it on my way home from work, i thought i would nip out after tea… (i think you see where this is going… :( ) Consequent, i dont have a copy.
Personally, i think there must be some reason why there arent any around. Im sure that i read somewhere that the Guitar Hero ‘controller’ doesnt work with new ‘Rock Band’ game, so the only thing i can think of is that they are ‘tweaking’ the design to iron out the compatibility issues. I really cant believe its THAT popular -although maybe im wrong?
Of course, it could just be a big conspiracy!! - The MAN trying to stop me from ROCKING OUT

It looks like im wrong about the compatibility issues. It must be a conspiracy after all ![]()
whats that, not enough robots?
Im working on it, but there havent been any interesting Robot related stories for a while.:(
In the meantime, visit Robot Island for all your Tin Toy Robot needs.

As well as sounding like Fozzie Bear, this clever chap has worked out how to do something rather cool with a PC & a Wii. By using the infrared camera in the Wii remote and a head mounted sensor bar, he can accurately track the location of his head and render 3d/view dependent images on the screen.
I realise this sounds a bit dry, but watch the video, its bloody cool stuff

It *almost* makes me want to buy a wii.
Wow - what a cracker! Uptown top Ranking by Althea & Donna. It was No. 1 in the Uk charts 1978.

The chords are very straight forward, (just Am & G, with the odd D thrown in) so you can play around with it until you find your own style. I enjoyed playing it in a Fromby style earlier - “See me in me heels and ting, oh mother!”
I have absolutely no idea what possesed me to see if this would work on a Uke, but i like it- and thats good enough for me
April is going to be a VERY exciting month.
Not only is there (a) the arrival of our first born (Zym 2.0), theres also (b) the final series of Battlestar Galactica, and (c) the release of GTA:IV.
Granted, i realise that (a) will pretty much exclude all chances of me participating in (b) & (c) for say, the next 18 years. But for the next 7 weeks I can still dream.
Over at Kotaku they have posted a link to the new GTA:IV site - and like the previous games, it looks SWEEEET.
This time round the game is set in Liberty City (a rather thinly disguised New York), and the site lets you explore some of the characters & locations that will appear in the game.
These include the tough takinng Community Leader ‘Manny Escuela’….

And the ‘not so’ Majestic Hotel.

Time will tell how these will feature in the final game, but tucked way at the bottom of the page is one word that made my face light up - “Multiplayer” ![]()
Theres no info as yet, but im hoping it will more than just the odd mini driving game. I adore ’sand-box games’, and adding a multiplayer element is just my idea of pure bliss.
Im spending most of my evenings playing Co-op Crackdown with ICHACAWAB at the moment. I would like to say that we’re progressing through the game nicely, but we tend to spend most of out time crashing cars, blowing stuff up, and throwing skips at each other. But that, as they say, is another story….

Ah Meng, who became the first and only non-human recipient of the Singapore Tourism Promotion Board’s Special Ambassador award, has passed away in the city-state’s zoo. She was 48, which is equivalent to nearly 95 in human terms.

The ape (yes i know its an ape not a monkey, before you all start!!) had met a wonderfully bizarre range of people during her 38 years in captivity. These included Michael Jackson, Prince Philip, Steve Urwin, Elizabeth Taylor, Bo Derek, and Bjorn Borg!
Robin Goh, the zoo’s former head of public relations, hailed Ah Meng’s star quality…
“She could drink tea from a teacup and looked good for an ape.”
What more could one ask for!

When building websites or designing pages containing large amounts of print, its often useful to use random text to give you an impression of how the final layout will look. The classic piece of text you often see used for this job is called Lorem Ipsum, and it looks like this…
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. Nunc lorem. Fusce eu justo. Nam id leo. Pellentesque ac metus quis tortor eleifend imperdiet. Vestibulum eu nibh. Cras cursus vestibulum purus. Vestibulum hendrerit, eros id faucibus suscipit, augue pede condimentum sem, eget tempus sapien diam ac nulla. Aenean viverra mauris eget nulla. Vestibulum pharetra pretium nunc. Nulla euismod rutrum nunc. Curabitur pretium, justo lobortis commodo tempus, diam sapien iaculis mi, non ultrices tortor ante at eros.
When i build websites and need some words, I prefer to use this Automatic Text Generator. While using it the other day, it generated a paragraph of text that rocketed me straight back to my childhood….
I never spend much time in school but I taught ladies plenty. It’s true I hire my body out for pay, hey hey. I’ve gotten burned over Cheryl Tiegs, blown up for Raquel Welch. But when I end up in the hay it’s only hay, hey hey. I might jump an open drawbridge, or Tarzan from a vine. ‘Cause I’m the unknown stuntman that makes Eastwood look so fine.
Yay - The Fall Guy!!
I used to LOVE that programme, and also used to LOVE the theme tune. (If you dont know what im talking about to can see the opening credits here.)
The song was written by Glen A Larson, (who also wrote and produced the show) and was performed by Lee Majors. According to Wiki, the song is now considered a minor classic in countries such as Germany!!
In fact, i love the theme tune so much that i decided that i had to get hold of the chords so i could play it on my Uke.
So with what i hope to be the first of many ukulele versions of songs to appear on this site, i present…
The Unknown Stuntman (Theme from The Fall Guy) - Lee Majors
You’ll have to play round with the “C-B-A-G-F-G-C-A” bit at the end of each chorus in order to get it to fit to the words. I *think* that its right :\
PRO TIP: Make sure you have someone else in the room who can do the ‘Hay-Hay’ bit in the last verse ![]()
