JoCo wants you!

I am a huge fan of Mr Jonathan Coulton. Not only does he make brilliantly touching and funny songs, he also seems to have a very healthy attitude to copyright & the whole business of illegal downloading. (Naughty boys and girls have the opportunity to repent and make a donation on his site)

Jonathan is planning a record a live DVD of his show on the 22nd Feb in San Francisco, and has sent out a call for Ukulele players attending the gig to get in contact.

Im intrigued, but also very very jealous.

Damn my stupid England living ways!! Ive been practicing my ‘Tom Cruise Crazy’, like er… crazy.

Not content with running Uke Hunt, the best and most popular ukulele website on the the planet, Al Wood (Woodshed) has now launched YouKulele - a ‘web 2.0′ Ukulele community site.

It seems that you only have to fart on someone elses website nowadays before they start proclaiming it as ‘web 2.0′, but judging by all the fancy features and the already triple figure membership it looks like he could be on to a very good thing.

Good Luck Al, I just hope it doesnt stop you from pumping out all that brilliant tab and chords for us. ;)

Monkeys

So Im still having problems with my xbox live connection at the moment.

It seems very weird that when i use the wireless adaptor it disconnects after nearly exactly 30 minutes each time - To me, this suggests that perhaps theres nothing wrong with the adaptor. It wouldnt be as systematic if it was?

Ive posted a long topic on what seems to be a useful xbox forum ( http://www.xboxlivetheguide.co.uk/ ) , and ive also emailed the zyxel helpdesk.

Equally, im wondering if i ought to send the adaptor back - even though ive chucked the box away?

UPDATE:

OK, so after several conversations with Zyxel, and 1 conversation with the xbox helpdesk (dont you just hate that ‘Passive Agressive’ thing the americans do?) - i *think* i might have a solution.

The very helpful chap at Zyxel thinks my problem is due to the way the router was set up to keep ‘re-authenticating’ the WPA key on a regular basis!! (this would explain the regular disconnects)

I knew it would be something simple!!

This has now been disabled, and only time will tell if Zym is to be a happy boy once more

UPDATE 2:
Still connected :)

Crazy Awesome

From the NY Times…

On Thursday, the 12-pound, 32-inch monkey made a 200-pound, 5-foot humanoid robot walk on a treadmill using only her brain activity.

She was in North Carolina, and the robot was in Japan.

Monkeys = Crazy

Robots = Awesome

Monkeys + Robots = Crazy Awsome!
