As you know, I love the Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra. I almost love them as much as i love Bret McKenzie. Randy Newman, i can take or leave, tbh, especially all the mawkish stuff. BUT, this video of the WIUO performing Short People is GREAT
Ive NO IDEA what Bret is playing in the clip – it doesnt even look like hes tuned to GCEA! But ive tried to come up with a version that easy to play, and you can argue amongst yourself over whether it should be a B7 or Bm7!
Short People – Randy Newman/WIUO
The problem of course, is that whenever anyone mentions Randy Newman – i can’t help but to think of “Randy Newman singing about what he sees”
Ive moved house, im busy at work, but above all i had bloggers block!.
But anyways, ive decided to kick off again, and have updated WordPress and switched themes. 2010 will be the year of ‘less is more’ theme-wise
Speaking of which, who knows what 2010 will bring (apart from ZYM 3.0!! – launch date mid April!!)
Oh, and ive finally updated the Ukulele Songs page to include all of the chordsheets i put on here in 2009
HAPPY 2010!! (better late than never!)

Aww Bless ‘em!!

One of my favorite Faces/Rod Stewart songs, this one. It works well with a couple of ukes with one playing the riff and one playing the chords.
And its dead easy
Ive finally updated the site to wordpress 2.8.4.
To be honest ive been putting it off for ages, but actually its worked out pretty well – apart from it breaking the old theme i was using.
Still, a change is as good as a rest.
Im going to be playing around with new themes for a while. I would quite like something simple again, that talks to Flickr & twitter
Watch this space!
Oh, and i PROMISE i’ll start updating regularly again soon!
We came home last weekend, but what with Festivus and all that, I’ve been busy.
But anyway, we walked during the day…

…and played Fallout 3 (and the ukulele) at night

(ive almost finished it!)
